The Vision of the Founder Chairman
My vision for Bishop Canning Law College is to establish an institution of excellence that transcends conventional legal education by integrating academic rigour with ethical values, professional competence, and social responsibility.
I envision a generation of legal professionals who are not only proficient in the law but are also guided by conscience, committed to constitutional principles, and steadfast in their pursuit of justice. The institution shall strive to foster a culture of intellectual integrity, respect for human dignity, equality before the law, and service to humanity.
Rooted in the values of justice, compassion, and service, Bishop Canning Law College aspires to become a respected centre of legal education, producing graduates who will make meaningful contributions to the legal profession, the administration of justice, and the building of a just and equitable society.
Our ultimate purpose is to educate minds, build character, uphold justice, and shape responsible citizens who will become instruments of positive change in society.
About the Founder Chairman
The Most Revd. Dr. Paritosh Canning is the Moderator of the Church of North India and has served as Bishop of Calcutta since 2019. He brings over 35 years of experience in congregational leadership, with expertise in institutional management, education, counselling and mentorship, and a commitment to social work and community outreach.
He serves as Chairman and President of a wide group of institutions, including Scottish Church College, St. Paul's Cathedral Mission College and Women's Christian College.

Our endeavour is to nurture competent, ethical, and socially responsible legal professionals who uphold the rule of law and serve society with integrity and compassion.
Guided by the vision of our Founder Chairman, The Most Revd. Dr. Paritosh Canning, Moderator, Church of North India, Bishop of Calcutta & Chairman, St. Thomas' Schools, we aspire to create an environment that promotes academic excellence, professional discipline, and respect for human dignity.
